An avid traveler and reader, she teaches French and has degrees in French, Spanish, and Journalism from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and a MA in English from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. Marguerite is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers, Abilene Writers Guild, Daughters of the American Revolution, South Carolina Historical Society, and Preservation Society of Charleston. I have enjoyed this series and the relationships forming as the characters find new ways to communicate on the journey. Are you a good communicator? Introvert or extrovert? Conversation is so very important. Think about how we use it every day: directions, warnings, concerns, prayers, instructions, disciplines. Even though I teach online, my words of concern and instruction are needed to spur the students toward success. Somehow, I have the words to communicate well in so many areas of my life.

Then what about the heart? I think of the Valentine’s candy hearts—Conversation Hearts! As relationships develop between characters in Room for Love and Conversation Hearts, the heart becomes more and more a major component with all the characters. Yet, sometimes we fail to really say what we think in order to protect our hearts. There are many lessons to learn about being honest in relationships. Sometimes we avoid the conversation part and miss out on the wonderful relationships.

I embrace the conversation of the heart in my life through love, decisions, marriage, job, God appointments, children, and difficult circumstances. Explore different facets of important conversations with Amy and Walker and their families as you read this installment of Suamalie Islands series.

My Review

Conversation Hearts is the fourteenth installment from the multi author Suamalie Islands series. I loved once again travelling to these beautiful islands. I have loved reading books from Marguerite Martin Gray and this one is no different. I enjoyed getting to know the main characters and continuing reading on to find out what would happen to them in the end. I thought it was a sweet and delightful book. I was entertained from start to finish.

I am giving Conversation Hearts a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who love to read quick, clean and wholesome romance. I look forward to reading the next addition from the Suamalie Islands series, Melissa Wardwell's All an Act.

My Review

Guess Who is in God's Family is a wonderful addition to Karen Ferguson's Questions for Kids series. I loved how Lucy and Papa Joe go to the Garden of Eden. I loved how it gives Lucy a lesson of God's love and how it is okay to be different. It is a beautifully illustrated book to read. I loved it. 

I am giving Guess Who is in God's Family a very well deserved five plus stars. It would be a great book for younger readers between the ages of three and eight years old. I look forward to seeing the other books Karen Ferguson has in store for her Questions for Kids series.

Dystopian stories remind me of Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol. In it, Ebenezer Scrooge is heartbroken for Tiny Tim and asks the Ghost of Christmas Present if the boy will live. The ghost, to paraphrase, says that if the shadows of the things present are not altered the child will not live. Dystopian stories show us the shadows of things that if left unaltered, if not safeguarded against, can bring dire consequences. Years ago, I began writing the Tomorrow’s Edge series because I was concerned. Looking at headlines and articles about everything from the latest tech developments to the weakening links in western society’s integrity, I could understand why so many people fear the future. For me, it was fear for a tomorrow that is the fulfillment of every dystopian nightmare to us, but because it is so gradual so innocuous in coming, those in the future living that dystopia won’t even see it.

Our hold on reality is tenuous in the modern digital world—particularly with AI deepfakes, virtual reality, augmented reality, and the metaverse increasingly edging into our daily lives. And when combined with post-modernist philosophy’s denial of objective truth it makes for a serious existential threat. So, I wrote a story about some teens living in the near future where it is very nearly too late to come back from that edge. Teens who are gifted a glimpse of truth and reality and now can’t turn back from pursuing it. I hope it isn’t a stretch already to see that a story like that is layered. The gripping, fast paced surface narrative has beneath it an adjuration and encouragement for those of us who follow Christ to cling to the Truth and the Creator of all reality, no matter what may come. Silent Stars takes that story arc to its conclusion and in writing it I discovered there was an even more potent symbolic meaning to “Tomorrow’s Edge” than us being on the precipice or a dangerous dystopian tomorrow. It was one of the most rewarding discoveries I’ve had as a writer and I hope you enjoy uncovering it as well.

My Review

Silent Stars is the third installment from the Tomorrow’s Edge series by Brett Armstrong. I have read the previous book from this series and looked forward to this one. I believe it would be best for readers to begin this series with book one to have a better reading experience. It was great catching up with Elliott and seeing where he is at now. I loved taking this adventure with him. 

Silent Stars is getting four and a half stars from me. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean dystopian, fantasy and / or science fiction. I would be interested in reading other books from Brett Armstrong to see what else he has in store for his fans and readers.

My Review

I enjoyed reading the start to the Security Hounds Investigations series by Dana Mentink, Tracking the Truth. I was excited to have the opportunity to read the follow up, Fugitive Search. I was not disappointed and loved getting to know the main characters, Catherine and Garrett. They were faced with danger, mystery, suspense, action, and adventure. I never knew what would happen to them from scene to scene. I loved the addition of faith within the pages. Great read.

I am going to give Fugitive Search five stars. I highly recommend it for readers who love to read clean romantic suspense. I look forward to reading the third installment from the Security Hounds Investigations, Hunted on the Trail, to see what happens next in the series.

Sometimes the Lord answered multiple prayers all at once.

Mae Shepherdson faced her pupils and, using sign language, dismissed them from class and promised to see them early tomorrow morning.

The students signed back to her and Mae thought her heart would explode.

Her charges were learning.

And she was making a difference.

Each student had a different story. From the ones who came from a supportive and caring home; to the ones who’d been mistreated or were orphans; from those who struggled to learn to those who eagerly embraced every lesson; from the youngest to the oldest, and all those in between…all were thriving under the dedicated tutelage of Mr. and Mrs. Eddington and the Horizon School for the Deaf.

Mae’s heart warmed as she watched as the children bounded from their desks, waved, and one by one, left the classroom. All except Polly, whom Mae had asked to stay after class.

Polly remained at her desk, smiling as she drummed her fingers on the worn-out wood, causing a tap-tapping vibration.

Mae reached inside her own desk and retrieved a wrapped parcel before walking to Polly’s desk. “For you,” she signed.

Polly’s brown eyes lit and she reached for the parcel, opening it with all the enthusiasm a six-year-old could muster. Pulling out the dress, she stood and held it against herself for size.

The dress Mama made would fit perfectly.

Polly wrapped her thin arms around Mae’s neck. She then stepped back, brought her hand to just below her mouth, and signed, “Thank you.” Before allowing Mae a chance to respond, Polly scuttled from the classroom, and Mae knew the little girl would barely reach her room before trying on the dress.

God had answered Mae’s prayers in so many ways. He’d blessed her with a family who loved her; He’d led her to teach at the Horizon School for the Deaf; and He’d allowed her to do something big for the least of these.

My Review

I loved the first book from the Horizon series by Penny Zeller, Over the Horizon, and was excited to get my hands on the second installment, Dreams on the Horizon. I adored Mae and Landon's story and it was wonderful going back in time to the 1880s to the wonderful town of Horizon, Idaho.  It was full of adventure, danger, romance, and faith. I enjoyed everything from start to finish.

I am giving Dreams on the Horizon five stars. I highly recommend for those who love to be immersed in clean historical romance. I will looking for the release of the next installment from the Horizon series to see where else Penny Zeller takes her fans to.
