ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Catherine Marshall (1914-1983), “The New York Times” best-selling author of 30 books, is best known for her novel “Christy.” Based on the life of her mother, “Christy” captured the hearts of millions and became a popular CBS television series. Around the kitchen table at Evergreen Farm, as her mother reminisced, Catherine probed for details and insights into the rugged lives of these Appalachian highlanders. My Review:
Julie is such a beautiful story. I love Julie from the start and admired her strength, courage, learning how to cope, and learning how to make a change. She was determined to do what was right. I was intrigued seeing this era and setting through Julie's eyes. Catherine Marshall did a fabulous job writing such a beautiful and well written book.
I give Julie four stars and recommend it for those who love clean historicals.
