Anita Higman—an award-winning and bestselling author from Texas—has authored or coauthored fifty-plus books, and she has a BA in the combined fields of speech communication, psychology, and art. A few of Anita’s favorite things are fairytale castles, antiquing, exotic teas, gardening, and laughing with her family and friends! Her latest book, Pure Joy, is a collection of devotions inspired from the Book of James in the Bible.

My Review

I have always loved Anita Higman's devotionals and her newest one, Pure Joy: 90 Devotions on the Book of James, is no different. The devotions are short but full of scripture and faith. Each one are only about two pages long and include a verse from the book of James in the Bible, commentary, followed by a Pausing for Proverbs. I thought they were all fabulous to read and I felt inspired by reading it.

I am giving Pure Joy: 90 Devotions on the Book of James by Anita Higman a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who are looking for short devotions to work into their busy schedules and still find a way to study the word of God. As always, I will be looking for more by Anita Higman in the future.
