My Review

Finding a Memory begins the Sparrow Island part from the Independence Islands series. I have always loved reading Chautona Havig’s stories and this one is no different. It is a story of finding love again, finding hope, letting go and moving on. It is, at times, sad and heartbreaking to read but yet it warmed my heart at other times, as well. Benjamin and Mallory’s tale is one that many readers would be able to relate to and understand the emotions the two felt. I like that it offered the beauty of hope and faith.

Finding a Memory is narrated by Christa DelSorbo. Her performance on bringing this tale to life is superb. She made it so easy to continue to keep listening and she did a wonderful job.

Finding a Memory will be getting four and a half stars from me. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading quick clean romances. I will be looking out for the next installment from Sparrow Island, Melissa Wardwell’s Blended Lives.

I received a digital copy of Finding a Memory from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

My Review

A Giant Murder is the second installment and Marji Laine’s contribution to the Ever After Mysteries. This is the first book I have read by this author and really enjoyed it. I thought it was a quick read that kept me busy reading for a couple of hours. Josephine and Porter’s story was entertaining from start to finish. It was not easily predictable for me and I had to see how the mystery would be solved. It was fun trying to figure it all out. I really liked that it was a retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk.

A Giant Murder is narrated by Christa DelSorbo. Her performance on bringing this tale to life is superb. She made it so easy to continue to keep listening and she did a wonderful job.

I am giving A Giant Murder four and a half stars. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean historical suspense fiction. I look forward to the third installment from the Ever After Mysteries, April Hayman’s When the Pilot Falls.

About the Book

Book: The Last Gasp

Author: Chautona Havig

Narrator: Christa DelSorbo

Genre: Christian Historical Mystery, Fairytale

Release date: December, 2021

At the pinnacle of his Hollywood career, Garrison Prince’s reign ends tonight.

As plain old Gary Prinz, he can pursue his Bible education, buy a bungalow in Pasadena, acquire a few chickens, and marry the girl of his dreams. He just never imagined trading the silver screen for a pulpit would wreak such havoc.

A cigarillo girl, Lucinda Ashton spends her days with her boyfriend, Gary, and her evenings selling candy and “gaspers” to the Hollywood elite at the Taj Mahal Theater.

However, when gunshots ring out just as intermission begins, Lucinda finds herself smack-dab in the middle of a brouhaha that leaves three dead, and no one has a clue why.

All the police know is that the evidence points to Lucinda as the killer and Gary as the intended target.

Four new friends, one young orphan, and a potluck of clues that don’t seem to fit anywhere leave the police baffled, Lucinda in fear for her freedom, and Gary ready to trade in his acting shoes for gumshoes if it’ll save his “Cinda.”

The first book in the Ever After Mysteries combining beloved fairy tales and mysteries, The Last Gasp. This Cinderella retelling blends a murder with enough crime and story clues to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Blog Tour and Giveaway: No Turning Back by Katie Vorreiter and Christa DelSorbo

About the Book

Book: No Turning Back

Author: Katie Vorreiter

Narrator: Christa DelSorbo

Genre: Suspense

Release date: February 26, 2021

Chronic panic attacks have stolen Livvy Fischer’s classically trained soprano voice and derailed her life. Due partly to a mix-up, partly to her crush on Pastor Lucas, Livvy joins a worship team bound for the chapel at San Quentin. But when a full-scale riot breaks out, she is separated from Lucas and the rest of her group. Survival becomes this songbird’s sole focus.

Snatched from the chapel by an inmate, Livvy doesn’t know who to trust. Tobin says he’s protecting her, but she’s been blindsided before. She struggles to put her trust in God, while all too aware that free will can wreak horrible consequences. Tobin wants her to hide and ride out the prison storm, but Livvy becomes the obsession of another inmate who is a serial killer. Will God protect her? Will Tobin?

It’s one thing if Tobin is turning his life around behind bars. It’s quite another to fall for him.

Blog Tour and Giveaway: Flipping Hearts by Chautona Havig and Christina DelSorba

About the Book

Book: Flipping Hearts

Author: Chautona Havig

Narrator: Christa DelSorbo

Genre: Christian Women’s Fiction

When a hurricane rips through Hooper Island, a tidal wave of TV crews follows and upsets the locals.

Brooks Crawforth agreed to volunteer crews helping to clean up and repair things on the island, not a whole home and garden series on the total renovation of several houses and a bit of cleanup on the side. He’s furious, and the show host is spitting nails at the person who blew it in the first place.

His and his father’s jobs are in jeopardy, the islanders are about to kill him, and that crazy show host blames him for her assistant’s last-minute, “you’ve-got-to-sign-this-now-or-we-can’t-come” contract.

One more thing. Did she have to be so cute?

He’s got even more trouble, though. Islanders are starting to blame Mallory Barrows for the invasion. Not only that, there are rumors of dismantling the association and allowing tourism on the islands. How’s he supposed to fix this mess?

They can’t stand each other, but if they can manage to flip off the enemy switch and flip on some cooperation, maybe their hearts’ll get flipped, too.

This “enemies to romance” novel introduces the next island in the Independence Islands Series featuring five islands, six authors, and a boatload of happily-ever-afters.

Blog Tour and Giveaway: Bookers on the Rocks by Chautona Havig and Christa DelSorbo

About the Book

Book: Bookers on the Rocks

Author: Chautona Havig and Christa DelSorbo

Genre: Christian Contemporary Women’s Fiction

Release date: February 23, 2021

If it ain’t broke, why’s she so intent on fixing it?

Tessa Booker hates romance.

For 25 years, Tessa Booker has insisted that romance is something Hollywood cooked up to sell books and movies. Yes, she knows the word existed before movies. She doesn’t care. That’s her story, and she’s sticking to it.

So, when Ross gets a gentle nudge from Mallory Barrows to look into what Tessa’s doing every day while he’s at work, he discovers a romance in the works – one that sounds a little too “ripped from the pages of his life”!

Who is this woman, and what has she done with his wife?

Armed with advice from 101 Ways to Romance Your Wife and a copy of the manuscript he printed while she was napping, he’s determined to figure out what’s up with his wife…and if maybe a little romance wouldn’t be a good thing, after all.

In a twist of the “on the rocks trope”, this book introduces the next island in the Independence Islands series featuring five islands, six authors, and a boatload of happily ever afters.

My Review

Bookers on the Rocks is Chautona Havig’s contribution and the start of the Elnora Island portion of the Independence Islands series. I thought it was a good read. It had a theme of faith and inspiration that I enjoyed. It, also, includes the writing style of this author that I have grown to love. She has a way of playing with a reader’s emotions. One minute I find myself laughing, while another minute needing a tissue or two. This one is a thought provoking and a beautiful story. I thought it was great.

Bookers on the Rocks is narrated by Christa DelSorbo. Her performance on bringing this tale to life is superb. She made it so easy to continue to keep listening and she did a wonderful job.

I will be giving Bookers on the Rocks four and a half stars. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean romance. I look forward to reading more books from the Elnora Island series. This one is definitely worth a read.
