My Review:

The River Queen is the exciting start to talented author, Stephenia H McGee’s River Romances series. I adored Emmett and Anola’s story and traveling back in time to the 1920s era with them. I was fascinated with what transpired on the Mississippi River. I loved the addition of mystery and suspense that kept me intrigued from start to finish. I found it was a fabulous read to spend a few beautiful mornings on my back deck.

I am giving The River Queen a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean historical romantic fiction. I am eagerly waiting for the second installment from the River Romances series, Moonlight on the Mississippi.

I received a digital copy of Stephenia H McGee’s The River Queen from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Review: The Swindler's Daughter by Stephenia H McGee

Blurb:

A surprise inheritance. A cache of family secrets. A choice that will change her life forever.

Lillian Doyle has lived her entire high-society life with her widowed mother, believing her father died long ago. But when news arrives that her estranged father only recently passed away--in jail--Lillian is startled to find that the man has left a business and all of his possessions to her, making her a rather unusual heiress.

When she goes to take possession of her father's house in a backwoods Georgia town, the dilapidated structure is already occupied by another woman who claims it was promised to her son, Jonah. In her attempts to untangle the mess, Lillian will discover not only a family she never knew she had but a family business that is more than meets the eye--and has put a target on her back.

To discover the truth and take hold of the independence she's always dreamed of, she'll have to make friends with adversaries and strangers--especially Jonah, the dusty and unrefined cowboy who has secret aspirations of his own.

Blurb:

Sometimes time travel is just the miracle you need. Unless it sends you to the last place you want to go.

Abigail Martin needs a miracle. After a crushing family secret stole her job, her apartment, and her future, she escapes her ruined life and risks a return to her hometown. Hints from a trusted friend that a mysterious bed and breakfast could grant her deepest desires lead her to rent a room. Review and Giveaway: Missing Mercy by Stephenia H McGee

Missing Mercy – Releasing October 1, 2019

Tagline
Mercy is missing, Faith is floundering Only truth can lead them to freedom.

Blurb:

The venture ahead could leave their friendship behind.

Made a safe-haven after the Civil War, Ironwood Plantation is a refuge of equality for former slaves. But twenty years and a new generation later, they have become an isolated community with little contact with the rest of the world.

Mercy Carpenter is everything the world thinks she shouldn’t be. Educated and adventurous, she longs to make a life for herself beyond the beautiful prison of Ironwood. When she secretly submits an article to the Boston Globe under a man’s name and receives an enthusiastic response and an offer for employment, she’s determined to take advantage of the opportunity. But she isn’t prepared for a startling world that won’t accept her color or her gender, and her ambitions soon land her in grave danger.

The privileged daughter of a plantation owner and an aspiring suffragette, Faith Harper is determined not to marry. Especially not her father’s opportunistic new business partner. She doesn’t want any man telling her what to do, least of all the annoyingly chivalrous Nolan Watson. But when Mercy goes missing, Faith will do anything to find her best friend, even if it means trusting a man she doesn’t understand. In a time where prejudices try to define them, Mercy and Faith must push the boundaries of their beliefs and trust in the God who holds the keys to freedom.
