My Review:
I have had the pleasure of reading and enjoying other books by C.S. McDonald. So, I was excited to have the opportunity to read the next book from her The Owl’s Nest Mysteries series, Maxed Out. I found this book to be a fun and quick read. The story was uniquely written and different, which is what I have expected from this author. It is a mystery that made me often wonder how it would all end. The story is not one that is believable but still a real delight to read from start to finish.
Readers will be catching up with Alexa Owl to see what she has been up to since the last book, Back to the Burgh and Beyond. Once again, angel Bobby Starr makes an appearance. It was fun when he brings along a new character, Maxi Krogen. They go quite the adventure with some unexpected twists and turns that kept me intrigued. I had no problem have the whole book read in one sitting. It was so delightful and entertaining to find out how they would solve the mystery.
Maxed Out will be getting four and a half stars from me. I look forward to reading the third book from The Owl's Nest Mysteries to find out what happens next in the series. I recommend this one for readers who enjoy reading cozy mysteries.
I received a paperback copy of Maxed Out from the publisher. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
