Dr. Rachel Wellner is a board-certified general surgeon, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Society of Surgical Oncology-trained breast oncology surgeon.
Doctoroo and the Case of the Picnic Pirates is another entertaining addition to Dr Rachel B Wellner;s Doctoroo series for younger readers. It was a great story of friends gathering to learn some very important lessons for the young and old. I loved catching up with Doctoroo and her sidekicks, Kirby, Louie, and Terence. I enjoyed travelling to the United States and seeing it through their eyes. I wanted to see if they will be able to help the bear cubs that they met along the way. I thought it was cute how their dilemma was solved. There were several times I could not help but to giggle on this journey. A wonderful way for all to see the food pyramid in a different way. The rap in the end was a nice touch..
Doctoroo and the Case of the Picnic Pirates is colorfully illustrated by the talented artist, Irina Drigova. The pictures were entertaining to look at and added to the delight of the words on each page.
I give Doctoroo and the Case of the Picnic Pirates a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers between the ages of four and eight. I can not wait to wait what other paths the Doctoroo books will take next and what adventure Dr Rachel B Wellner has in store for her characters.
I received a soft cover copy of Doctoroo and the Case of the Picnic Pirates from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
