THE AUTHOR'S AI TOOLKIT by Hank Quense Book Tour Giveaway

My Review:

I have had the pleasure of reading previous books from the talented author, Hank Quense in the past. I was honored to have the opportunity to read his newest release, The Author's AI Toolkit: From Concept to Publication. I found this book to be helpful for writers on how they can use Artificial Intelligence as one of the resources for creating stories. The book thoroughly explains how this can be accomplished. It is broken down into five phases, planning, writing, publishing, marketing, and author business. Each phase has query and / or questions with responses that explain everything a reader needs to know. There is even a Master Query List of these queries and / or questions in the end for easier accessibility. Mr Quense gives some excellent tips and tricks all throughout each phase. I thought these tools were valuable and useful.

I am going to give The Author's AI Toolkit: From Concept to Publication a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who are interested in publishing their own work or for other authors who are searching for more tools in their publishing ventures. As always, I would be interested in reading more insightful books from Hank Quense in the future to see what other useful tips he can offer his readers.

I received a digital copy of Hank Quense's The Author's AI Toolkit: From Concept to Publication from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Book Tour and Giveaway: Creating Your First Novel by Hank Quense

Book Details:

Book Title:  Creating Your First Book by Hank Quense
Category:  Adult Non-Fiction, 120 pages
Genre: Non-Fiction, Self Help,
Publisher:  Strange Worlds Publishing
Release date:  Oct 15, 2023
Content Rating:  G
Book Description:

Are you writing your first book? Or are you thinking about writing it?
Do you have any idea what you’re getting into?
No? Let’s talk about it.
Most aspiring authors concentrate on writing the book to the exclusion of all else. However, the reality is that creating a book is a long-term, multi-phase project and writing it is only one facet of the project.
The complete project involves five separate phases:
  • Planning the book
  • Writing the book
  • Publishing the book
  • Marketing the book
  • Author business issues
Unfortunately, planning and writing a book does nothing to prepare the author for the other phases of the project. The only commonality between the phases is that they are about a single book.
Another difficulty with the creative project is that almost all information on the process only discusses one phase of it.
Until now.
Creating Your First Novel covers all five phases.
It is written by an author who has gone through the project over two dozen times. Creating Your First Novel provides a road map to get you through the process without losing your sanity.

My Review:

I have read other writing self help books from Hank and Quense and was interested in reading his newest release, Creating Your First Novel: A Comprehensive Guide Spanning the Entire Long-Term Project: From Planning Through Marketing and Starting Your Author Business. The book is broken down into 5 parts:
Planning – The beginning phase of writing, such as, characters, setting, plot, etc.
Writing - Includes a Fiction Writing Workshop, which has thirteen lessons on how to get started on bringing a novel to life.
Author Business – How to get started with the business of becoming an author, such as, royalties, profits, losses, taxes, etc.
Publishing – shows ten steps on how to get the novel published from becoming self-published or traditionally published.
Marketing – explains different ways of promoting the novel from getting reviews to showing a presence on social media.
I found the book to be easy to read and follow along and I appreciated the tips, advice, and tricks.

Creating Your First Novel: A Comprehensive Guide Spanning the Entire Long-Term Project: From Planning Through Marketing and Starting Your Author Business will be getting five stars from me. I highly recommend it for readers who are interested in writing their first novel and needing guidance on how to get started.

My evolution as an author

Starting way back in the last millennium, I began my career as a writer. Since that time, my writing has gone through a series of evolutions.

Short Stories

I began writing short stories to master the crafts of story design and story-telling. Short stories have an advantage in that they are . . . short. I could create a number of short stories and get them critiqued and submitted in the time needed to write a novel. Eventually, I sold over 40 stories all of them less than 6,000 words long.

While writing another short story, a strange thing happened: it ended up as a novella, over 20,000 words. I wasn’t sure how that happened, but I didn’t worry about it and started another short story. This one ended up as an even longer novella. I realized my characters were becoming more complex and my plots more complicated and those factors accounted for the increased length.

I set out to write a novella and this time it ended up as a novel, over 60,000 words long

Novels

So, I decided I was a novelist and wrote a number of them (not all worthy of publication). Along the way, I realized I would have great difficulty writing another short story because the word count limitations are so restrictive.

My first two books were published by a small indie publishing house. I found that experience so distasteful, I went into self-publishing.

As a member of several writing groups, I noticed that newbie writers have a lot of problems understanding how to go about creating a story. I decided to write a book to explain it all.

Non-fiction

The first non-fiction book was about writing fiction. That was followed by a book on self-publishing and after that, one on book marketing followed by more non-fiction titles.

I still get great story ideas for more short stories and novels, but I don’t have time to write them because of all the non-fiction projects and articles.

Infographics

While searching for a book on financial planning for my grandkids, I came across one that used infographics. While thumbing through it, I had this idea that it would be great fun to create a new version of my book on fiction writing using an Infographic approach.

So I overcame a number of technical issues and completed the book called Infographic Guide to Creating Stories.

Teaching

I’m spending much of my time recently in creating videos and email courses to help people improve their writing skills and to master the techniques of self-publishing and book marketing. I have a number of additional projects in mind.

What’s next?

Who knows where my my writing evolution will go next. I can predict I won’t be writing (or composing) an opera. I do have ideas for some really weird stories so perhaps I’ll return to writing fiction.

CREATING STORIES Book Tour Giveaway

My Review:

As a lifelong reader and half a decade professional reviewer, I have been interested more and more about writing my own book. However, I had no idea how, when or where to begin. I jumped on the opportunity when I had the chance to read Creating Stories. The author, Hank Quense, did a great job in answering some questions I have had on how to get started. He explains the ideas and design that is important for story telling. As well as, the importance of character development and the depth of the main and sub plots. He includes illustrations, graphs, charts, and diagrams to back up his explanations, tips, and advice. They were quite useful for me to understand in depth in what he was explaining to his readers. I found the book made me feel more inspired and confident on jotting down my ideas on creating my own story. I will be holding on to my copy to keep it handy as I navigate into this new journey for me.

I am giving Creating Stories five stars. I highly recommend it for readers who are aspiring authors to help them begin their new venture. I would be interested in reading other book writing advice books from Hank Quense in the future to see what other inspiration he offers for his fellow authors.

I received a digital copy of Hank Quense’s Creating Stories from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
