Review: Lost and Found by Suzanne Woods Fisher

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blurb:

Trudy Yoder shares a passion for birding with Micah Weaver--and she has an even greater passion for Micah. Their friendship is finally turning romantic when Micah abruptly grows cold. Worse still, he wants to leave Stoney Ridge.

Micah Weaver thought he was over Trudy's older sister. A year and a half ago, Shelley had broken his heart when she ran away from Stoney Ridge to pursue a singing career in Nashville. Then, out of the blue, she's started to leave distressing phone messages for him.

When the bishop asks for volunteers to scout out a possible church relocation in Tennessee, Micah is the first to raise his hand. Despite scant details, he's confident he can find Shelley. After all, his reputation as a field guide is based on finding birds that don't want to be found.

What Micah doesn't know is that what you're looking for isn't always what you find.

My Review:

Lost and Found is another delightful story from one of my favorite Amish writers, Suzanne Woods Fisher. I believe this one may be my new favorite from her and was far from being disappointed. I adored meeting Trudy & Micah. I, also, love that there are true to life issues within the pages that so many could relate to. I enjoyed reading this sweet tale and was a perfect way to spend a cool and rainy fall day. I loved it.

I am giving Lost and Found five stars. I believe fans of clean Amish romance will not want to pass on this one. It is definitely worth reading and not to be missed.

I received a paperback copy of Suzanne Woods Fisher’s Lost and Found from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

When community leaders began to doubt Abel Mendoza, the law practice he had spent years building began to crumble. It was the 1960s and there was but a handful of Mexican lawyers in California. Abel had worked tirelessly to earn respect in the courts, avoiding any semblance of a personal life to achieve his goals. Now, his personal and professional lives had collided and he found himself being rejected by the community that had previously supported and admired him. His fears of inadequacy kindled, Abel began to question who he really was, what he did, and where he belonged. A desire to avoid these questions and the people who had provoked them sent this small-town lawyer on a trip to escape not only his community but his own self-doubts, and into a relationship that changed his life completely.

My Review

Lost and Found is my introduction to the talents of writer Ronald L. Ruiz. I thought it was pretty good. At under three hundred pages, it was easy to keep reading late at night to read. Readers are transported back in time to the 1960s California. The character of Abel Mendoza is one that many readers would be able to relate to and connect with.  Just when life was getting really good, it quickly began to fall apart around him. He suddenly began struggling and had to learn who he really was and how to get through this stressed life. It felt like reading a memoir at times. It was emotional at times and I enjoyed taking this journey with him to find out what he finds, how it ends for him, and if he would be able to rebuild what he lost. It was entertaining right from the start and I wanted to keep reading to see how it would all play out.

I am giving Lost and Found a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading well written and entertaining fiction. I would be interested in reading more by Ronald L. Ruiz in the future. I believe this one is definitely worth a read and should not be missed.

I received a digital copy of Lost and Found from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
