My Review:

Soso and The Kako Leaf is a delightful book written by Bella Disu. I liked reading this book of diverse characters. It takes an interesting look at different cultures and heritages that helped me learn about. Soso finds about becoming a more confidant person and how tradition, customs and background make her who she is. I found it to be a fun adventure to take with her and find that she is a good role model for the youngest of readers. I feel honored to take this journey with her and watching her grow as a person in the end. I thought it was an honor to read this sweet book. I loved it.

Soso and The Kako Leaf is beautifully illustrated by the talented artist Awele Emili. Their pictures are a perfect addition to the story, help little readers to follow it, and hold their attention all throughout.

I am giving Soso and The Kako Leaf four and a half stars. I recommend it for readers who are between the ages of four and eight years of age. I would be interested to read more books from Bella Disu to share with my young ones in the future. I believe this one would be a great placement in children’s public libraries and / or elementary school classrooms.

I received a digital copy Soso and The Kako Leaf from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
