More from Sharon

Have you ever found yourself in a place you didn’t belong, through no choice of your own? When I began writing Dream of Kings, I was caring for my mom as she dealt with Alzheimer’s. The whole world was stuck in lock-down because of the pandemic. And I was facing limitations caused by health challenges. So it’s no wonder this story question arose for me: how do we respond when we are in painful, unfair, and unfamiliar places? Is there room for God to bring good from difficult circumstances?

Jolan the Dream Teller has already experienced heartache before the book opens, and perhaps believed it was time for an easy road. Instead, she faces betrayal and the loss of everything she holds dear—her calling, her friends, her nation. Everything familiar is ripped away. But the Provider shows up in unexpected places and through unexpected people.

The question that began my brainstorming led to an adventure I didn’t fully expect. Dream of Kings became a celebration of the purposes of God and how they unfolded in one woman’s life. Courageous adventures, unselfish compassion, and unexpected romance fill Jolan’s journey.

As NYT bestselling author Tosca Lee described it: “An epic fantasy and absorbing page-turner, Dream of Kings has it all—intrigue, romance, and characters as interesting as they are endearing.”

But while Jolan navigates foreign kingdoms and the halls of power, she represents every one of us who find ourselves in a place of struggle. My longing is for this story to stir courage and inspiration for every reader grappling with a difficult road or a dark valley. I am so excited for readers to join Jolan on her journey!

Blessings!

Sharon Hinck

My Review

Even though I am not a huge of the fantasy or science fiction genre, I have always enjoyed reading Sharon Hinck’s books. I was excited to have the opportunity to read her newest release, Dream of Kings. I was not disappointed. It was intriguing to take a journey to Norgard with Jolan and seeing how she struggled with what she dealt with. It covers, betrayal, faith and forgiveness. I believe this one is my new favorite I have by this author to date. It was quite the adventure and I loved learning about this new world along the way.

I am giving Dream of Kings five plus  stars. Lovers of clean Christian fantasy or science fiction will not want to pass up on reading this one. I will be eagerly awaiting for more books like this from Sharon Hinck in the future.

I received a digital copy of Dream of Kings from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

About the Author

Izzy James grew up in the footprints of history in coastal Virginia. She lives there still with her fabulous husband in a house brimming with books.

More from Izzy

After I finished Garrett, who worked really hard to hide his contemporary origins when he slipped back to 1769, I thought it would be fun to have someone actually take some technology back to 1769. I also felt bad for Olivia’s grandmother who makes her first appearance in Max. She is a retired physician knitting away and helping out Olivia and Garrett as she can. I thought it was time she had an adventure of her own. And since I love historic areas, and Yorktown has become one of my favorite places, I knew I had to go back at least one more time.

My Review

Rita is a novella written by the talented Izzy James and part of the Yorktown Christmas Time-Travel series. Even though it is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone. I really enjoyed this quick story and getting to know Rita and Josiah. It was a sweet tale of love, history and having second chances. It was fun going back in time to pre Revolutionary War era Yorktown. At about one hundred and twenty pages, it was easy to read in one sitting.

I am giving Rita four and a half stars. Readers who enjoy reading clean historical fiction, as well as, time travel stories. I look forward to reading more by Izzy James in the future.

I received a paperback copy of Rita from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

She brings secrets, intrigue, and trouble along with her—a crime syndicate set on goals that would destroy the harbor. And Abigail is in the middle of their scheme.

About the Author

Fay Lamb is the only daughter of a rebel genius father and a hard-working, tow-the-line mom. She is not only a fifth-generation Floridian, she has lived her life in Titusville, where her grandmother was born in 1899.

Since an early age, storytelling has been Fay’s greatest desire. She seeks to create memorable characters that touch her readers’ hearts. She says of her writing, “If I can’t laugh or cry at the words written on the pages of my manuscript, the story is not ready for the reader.” Fay writes in various genres, including romance, romantic suspense, and contemporary fiction.

More from Fay

Writing is supposed to be fun, right? Well, for a while, writing was the last thing I wanted to do. And when you have two series contracted and many other books waiting in line to be written, that’s a big problem.

I’m sure that I’m not the only person on the face of this earth who recently placed fun in a jar and hid it away for at least a week, maybe a month, maybe even a year. Heck, some of us may have fun still hidden away.

I truly thought I’d lost my sense of humor. And then I sat down to be purposeful in my writing. Abigail tiptoed onto the page (literally), and then the quirky denizens of Mullet Harbor worked their magic and the story unfolded before me. Abigail and her hero, Remy, may have had some difficulties in life, but for me, I had the time of my life.

When I finished writing All I Want for Christmas, I sat back and I marveled that I had not lost that sense of humor, especially not in my writing. I recalled that in all my writing life, when things were bleakest, my writing brought a smile, and I have always wanted it to bring a smile to others.

Mission accomplished. Humor has been removed from the hiding place and firmly installed back into the funny bone, and my prayer is that the readers will allow Mullet Harbor to bring a little humor—and suspense—to their lives.

My Review

All I Want For Christmas is the second installment from Fay Lamb’s Mullet Harbor series. It is the first book I have by this author and definitely will not be the last. Even though this one is part of a series and I have yet to read book one, Christmas Under Wraps, it can be read as a stand alone. It was fun traveling to Mullet Harbor and meeting the people of the area. I thought it was a fun and entertaining read with a case that needs to be solved. I liked it.

I am giving All I Want For Christmas four and a half stars. Readers who are fans of clean mystery and suspense will want to grab this one. I will be looking for other books from the Mullet Harbor series to see where Fay Lamb takes the town to next.

Blog Tour and Giveaway: Wreathed in Disgrace by Robin Patchen

About the Book

Book: Wreathed in Disgrace

Author: Robin Patchen

Genre: Christian romantic suspense

Release date: October 18, 2022

A famous actress, a protective bodyguard, a festive Christmas season, and a killer…or two…on the loose.

Everybody believes movie star Denise Masters abandoned her family to pursue her dream, but the truth is much more complex. For years, she’s longed to return to Coventry to repair her relationship with her daughter, but contractual obligations–and fear of being rejected–have kept her away. When a serial killer targets Hollywood actors, Denise decides to spend the Christmas holidays in New Hampshire. She will finally face the disgrace of her past.

Private security agent Jon Donley figures the woman he’s been hired to guard will turn out to be a paranoid, privileged prima donna. Instead, the more he gets to know Denise, the more he likes her. But he’s not being paid to get involved with her. His job is to keep her safe while he figures out what links her to the other victims.

But the serial killer on the west coast isn’t the only danger they face. A second one is closing in fast, threatening not just Denise but the little girl she’ll stop at nothing to protect.

Romance, suspense, and a New England Christmas. Don’t miss the next installment of the addictive Coventry Saga.

About the Author

Robin Patchen is a USA Today bestselling and award-winning author of Christian romantic suspense. She grew up in a small town in New Hampshire, the setting of her Nutfield Saga books, and then headed to Boston to earn a journalism degree. Working in marketing and public relations, she discovered how much she loathed the nine-to-five ball and chain. After relocating to the Southwest, she started writing her first novel while she homeschooled her three children. The novel was dreadful, but her passion for storytelling didn’t wane. Thankfully, as her children grew, so did her writing ability. Now that her kids are adults, she has more time to play with the lives of fictional heroes and heroines, wreaking havoc and working magic to give her characters happy endings. When she’s not writing, she’s editing or reading, proving that most of her life revolves around the twenty-six letters of the alphabet. More from Robin

On Becoming a Hero…

I’ve been contemplating this story since I wrote the first book in the Coventry Saga, Glimmer in the Darkness, and discovered that little Ella’s mother had abandoned her family. She was such a bad mother, in fact, that she didn’t even come home when Ella was kidnapped.

Obviously, Denise Masters was not heroine material.

Or so I thought.

But Denise has been whispering in my ear for a couple of years now, telling me her secrets. Turns out, she doesn’t just play a hero in the movies. She’s learning to be a hero in real life. In Denise’s case, that means facing the ghosts of her past, ghosts that chased her away from home, from the people she loved most in the world.

To outsiders, it looks like Denise has everything a person could want—fame, money, and success. But all she really wants is a relationship with the daughter she adores, the daughter she left because she couldn’t see another way.

Have you ever been there, so deep in the muck that you can’t find your way out? So lost that you think the best option—the only option—is to escape? Have you ever believed that your problems—whether caused by someone else or by your own choices—were unsolvable?

That’s what Denise believed for years. That one foolish choice—which led to a myriad of other foolish choices—had permanently disqualified her not just from being a good mother but from being worthy of love.

And then she met Jesus, and He changed everything. He pulled her out of the mire and set her on solid ground. He gave her the longing and the courage to face the people she’d disappointed.

The serial killer preying on Hollywood actresses is the impetus she needs to return to Coventry just as the community ramps up for the Christmas season.

But Denise’s attempt at escaping one killer puts her squarely in the path of another.

This story won’t be much fun for Denise, though I have a strong suspicion she’s going to really like the hunky bodyguard, Jon Donley. (If you read Lineage in Corruption, you might remember Jon.)

For us who get to read it, it’s going to be great fun. I hope you’ll check it out!

My Review

Wreathed in Disgrace is part of Robin Patchen’s Coventry Saga. I have read the previous books in this saga and this one is by far my favorite. I love the Christmas time themed mystery and suspense. It is one that made me keep turning the pages. I adored the Denise and Jon team. I never knew what was going to happen with them from scene to scene. I thought it was a great read with adventure, action, mystery, suspense and romance, while wrapped around the most magical time of the year.

Wreathed in Disgrace is getting five stars from me. Readers who enjoy reading clean romantic suspense that has an element of faith, will want to read this one. I will most definitely be reading more from Robin Pathen in the future.

I received a copy of Wreathed in Disgrace from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Review: Second Bride Down by Ginny Baird

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blurb:

Aspiring artist Misty Delaney is not about to let her parents’ beloved café go under. Not when she can just merge the company by entering a quick marriage of convenience with the rich son of their family’s rival. But her sisters aren’t having it. They all made a deal: they each get one month to find true love. She can’t just fold. To make sure Misty gives finding love a chance, they post a “Marry me: Misty!” billboard outside town. Surely that’ll give her options?

Watching Misty field marriage proposals from strangers, that she clearly doesn’t want, is a big cup of
nope for café manager Lucas Reyes. He and Misty have been friends for years, but it’s time he step up and make his romantic feelings for her known. And what better way to start than by sending her unwanted suitors packing with an announcement that she’s already in a relationship. With him.

Lucas’s little stunt buys an extremely grateful Misty one week to come up with a solution that saves the café and keeps her sisters happy. A week during which she and Lucas need to act like they’re in love. Except, between late-night stargazing, crashed mopeds, and dancing in the rain, their pretend romance feels almost…perfect. But it’s one thing to start falling. It’s another entirely to turn one week into forever…

My Review:

I adored the first book from Ginny Baird’s Majestic Maine series, First Bride to Fall, and was excited to read book two, Second Bride Down. I enjoyed this one so much more. I found it to be fun and entertaining with sprinkles of humor all throughout. I loved Misty and Lucas so much. Their story was a pure delight.

I am giving Second Bride Down a very well deserved five plus stars. Fans of clean romantic fiction with lots of laughs will definitely want to pick this one up. I will be eagerly waiting for the next installment from the Majestic Maine series.

I received a digital copy of Second Bride Down from the author, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
