BLURB:

Skye Stone runs a local coffee shop called Coffee Is. Like the name of her shop, she likes things simple and to the point. But she’s more than just a businesswoman in Auralia. She’s fighting for her life as an Aeon and working hard to save her town and her world. Like the other Aeons, she uses her special ability in her battle against Dark Sides. Her’s is reading auras and connecting with her ancestors for help. After all, a lot is at stake, so she can use all the help she can get. But as darkness is getting harder and harder to thrive in, she’s not sure even her ancestors can save the day.

Cooper Munson, a former bounty hunter turned doctor of psychology, and Aeon as well, has prided himself on being a solid member of their little band of light workers, using his ability as an empath to define truths and manage others. But the constant interaction with Dark Aspects is disorganizing his very soul. He can’t see a way through for him back to balance in light and love.

Cooper and Skye are not alone in the mission, they know. But things are getting complicated, and with darkness closing in, stronger and stronger, will they survive long enough to save the world from Dark Sides? What will they have to do to truly save their town and their world?

In the climactic conclusion of the Dark Sides series, will the Aeons prevail and change the balance between dark and light for good? Or will Dark Sides, with despair and oppression, rule take down Auralia, then world? Can Cooper and Skye go deeper into darkness and learn the truth about love and light before it’s too late?

EXCERPT

:

Despite the support of the ancestors, Skye couldn’t suppress the trembling that shook her body. Sitting, waiting for something terrible to happen triggered her past. She’d run too much, hid too much, and almost died fighting for freedom. Panic tightened her throat. Here they were, sitting ducks for whatever the Dark Aspects would do, and that wouldn’t be pretty.

Cooper groaned. “I don’t want to panic but that seems to be the emotion to have. I hate to admit it, but I wish we had some fire power right now.”

A series of loud bangs upstairs sent Skye to the floor, covering her head.

“You okay, Skye?” Cooper scooched close beside her. “I get what you’re feeling, I think. I’m panicking too. It’s whelming up inside me.”

She heard him pull in a deep breath and let it out. His tender voice wrapped around her. “You too?” Looking at Cooper, his broad shoulders and muscled body gave him an imposing physique. It said, ‘Don’t mess with me.’ But his brown eyes held a quiet wisdom and emanated strength of character and conviction.

He nodded. “I’ve been am empath all my life, but I’m still learning how to manage all the things I feel.”

Skye released a long breath. Her trembling calmed, but not her vigilance. She leaned closer to Cooper. “You probably know I’m an HSP.” She glanced up into his face, questioning.

“Highly Sensitive Person. I did not. You’ve been keeping that a secret?” He slanted his head. “I see that in you, just never connected the dots.”

“It hasn’t been a quality about my personality that has done anything for me.” She jumped, as what sounded like bowling balls dropping on the floor upstairs. “What could they be doing?”

He took her hand. “Let’s go check.”

His hand was warm, soothing, as he pulled her to her feet and led her to the console across the room.

Braden and Payson stood before the screens, chatting.

Cooper released her hand and looked between them to view the screen. Skye took a spot on the other side of Payson. As an Auralia police detective, Braden often took the lead in times like these. He and Payson made a good team, but as a bounty hunter, Payson could hold her own in most situations. Skye squirmed. She didn’t have those credentials. Keegan was a former bounty hunter, and so was Cooper. She had skills and abilities, sure, but they weren’t much help in a confrontation. She was just a café owner.

 MY REVIEW:

See Me is the third installment from the Dark Sides series. It is, also, my first introduction to the talents of Lynn Crandall. Even though it is part of a series, I believe it can easily be read as a stand alone. I enjoyed reading the story between Cooper and Skye. It was a fun adventure and seeing how much chemistry the duo had. I thought it was a good book to read and a perfect way to spend a cold afternoon.

I am going to give See Me four and a half stars. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading romantic fiction. I would be interested in reading the previous books from Lynn Crandall's Dark Sides series to see what had happened previously.

I received a digital copy of Lynn Crandall's See Me from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
