The Adventures of Lefty and Righty: The Windy City is an entertaining children’s book by author Lori Orlinsky. It was fun taking an adventure with Lefty and Righty throughout the city of Chicago. I found myself giggling along the way as they journey in the city to get to the White Sox game on time. They come across other destinations and surprises that I found amusing and delightful. I thought it was a great book to read and learning a little about this windy city and seeing through the eyes of Lefty and Righty.
The Adventures of Lefty and Righty: The Windy City is illustrated by the talented artist, Kenn Vidro. Their pictures perfectly follow along with the story giving a wonderful visual of the words on each page. They are bright and vivid that will hold a younger readers attention all throughout the book.
I am giving The Adventures of Lefty and Righty: The Windy City a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who are between the ages of four and nine years old. It would be a great addition for a classroom and local children’s library. I am eagerly awaiting another release from Lori Orlinsky to see what other characters she comes with up next.

Lori Orlinsky is a multi-award-winning children's book
author who lives in Chicago. She was inspired to tell this story after
her family experienced the loss of their beloved eighteen-year-old cat,
Tiger. Unable to find books about pet loss to help her young kids cope
with their grief, Lori wrote Balloons for Tiger. She hopes this book will help others, too.
Balloons for Tiger is a good book for younger readers. It is a good way of teaching young ones about the experience of losing their beloved pet. It does so by making young ones to stay captivated from start to finish. I admired how the author was able to use this story to bring out a way of showing how one can heal and grieve such an important friend in their life. I found it to be a wonderful tool to help little children process of what is happening. It is okay to be sad and to be missing their friend, but they still have their memories.
I enjoyed Balloons for Tiger’s illustrations. The illustrator is the talented Vanessa Alexandre. Her creative gift shines throughout the book. The pages were so beautiful and vibrant that would catch any young reader’s eye. I adored the colorful pictures on every single page. They perfectly follow the story and helps brings it to life.
Balloons for Tiger is getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. I highly recommend it for young readers who are between the ages of three and seven years old. It would be a perfect to gift to give to any child that is trying to understand and are grieving the loss of their furry friend. I will be looking for more books by Lori Orlinsky in the future.
