Blog Tour and Giveaway: Second Chance at Love by Shirley Quiring Mozena

About the Book

Book:  Second Chance at Love
Author: Shirley Quiring Mozena
Genre:  Non-fiction
Release Date: July, 2020
Whether your marriage was blissful or challenging, lengthy or short, it didn’t end the way you imagined. Regardless of how you found yourself without a life partner, you may be at a point where you’d like to experience the love of a spouse again. Authors Shirley and Jim Mozena experienced devastating losses and then struggles in their relationships before finding renewed love with each other, and in Second Chance at Love they offer their insights to these difficult questions:
  • Are you really ready?
  • Is now the time?
  • How do you know if you’ve found the right one?
  • Is the potential pain of losing another spouse worth it?
The authors approach their answers with practical reality and their own vulnerability. They share the experiences of their first marriages, their second marriages, their journeys through what seemed like devastating losses, and the gifts of finding love and another chance to share their lives with a spouse after death and divorce.
In addition to the down-to-earth guidance on the situations you face when considering marrying again, Shirley and Jim have created valuable questionnaires to identify issues and facilitate discussions with potential mates. The information contained in this book will give you confidence and peace as you navigate these hopeful waters.

My Review:

Second Chance At Love: Navigating the Path to Remarriage is a must read for so many. I have to admit, it was a hard book for me to read after my husband receiving a very scary diagnosis. I can not imagine my life without him and moving on with another. However, Mozenas do a wonderful job helping others finding out whether they are ready or not ready for a new love. And how to do so in God’s eyes. It is an inspiration to read their story.

I am giving Second Chance At Love: Navigating the Path to Remarriage five stars. I recommend it for readers who have lost a loved one being from passing or from divorce. I believe those who ready to move on will benefit greatly by reading this book.

I am giving Second Chance At Love: Navigating the Path to Remarriage from the publisher. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

More from Shirley

They told me there was no hope. How could that be? I’d already lost one husband. Would I have to lose another? We’d had so little time! Four years earlier—nearly to the day—my high school sweetheart and father of my two children had died. We’d gone through so many struggles. Our marriage was nearly broken. Through courage in facing our faults and selfishness, our marriage was restored. And then, after a six month battle with a terrible virus, my husband died. I’d never dreamed I’d love again, but it happened. Sx months after our first date, we were married.  It seemed like we were still on our honeymoon when the next tragedy happened. Just like that, he was gone. And then I knew the story needed to be told. For myself. For my children. For anyone who wanted to know. It’s a story of second chances in a restored marriage. In love. In hope for the future and God’s sustaining love and comfort. A story to strengthen your own soul.

Review

I found Second Chances by Shirley Quiring Mozena to be quite an emotional roller coaster for me. It tells about the author’s life with her husband of forty years and then his sudden passing. When she describes in the pages afterwards, was so heartbreaking to read. I needed my tissues close by as I kept reading. Shirley has to learn how to cope with her loss and live her life alone. Her life is once again changes when she finds love and happiness. I could just feel the love she had for Blair. I loved reading about their adventures.

I am giving Second Chances four and a half stars. I recommend it for readers who are interested in book’s title, Second Chances, how to overcoming grief and loss, and learning to move on from heart break. I, also, highly recommend for readers to keep that tissue box close by. They are going to need it.

I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
