Interview:

What made you write a book about Standing Strong and Becoming Unstoppable?

Great question! I had a unique journey after an unimageable accident. I was left with the functioning of a young child. Throughout my career and life in general, I had seen many people who wanted more but who choose to wait to go after it. After living and learning through my journey, I knew that others could also benefit from using the steps I followed, letting them reach their goals. So, I shared my story in the first half of the book and the lessons learned in the second half.

Which was the hardest chapter to write? The easiest?
The story is a vulnerable look at my life. It took a lot to share that my accident caused a traumatic brain injury and how it limited my functioning. Writing the story itself was hard because I had to re-live everything that happened to get in on paper authentically. Yet, the hardest chapter to write was the beginning. How do you start a story about something true that is so unimaginable and make it believable? That was the biggest challenge. The easiest to write was the end. To be completely transparent, I had a hard time ending the book, there was so much more I wanted to share.

How did you do research for your book?
There was so much learning that needed to take place in my life and to be able to write the book. I worked with the best physicians, medical professionals, coaches, and leaders both before and after my accident. When you have a brain injury, if you are able, you want to understand what happened to you and how to make it better faster. I started studying other aspects of the brain. While I had studied human and organization behavior, neuroscience became new learning for me. All of this learning along with a lot of social research went into the development of this book.

In your book you make a reference to finding your AIM how did you come up with this idea?
You can set your sights on a lot of different things in life but if you don’t have the right AIM, you will never hit the target. I share the steps to take to move you forward in life. Truly, they can be used in any area of life or business. However, without the right Attitude, Inspiration, and Motivation, progress will be difficult if it happens at all. After studying thousands of people and reading more research than I care to think about, this topic stood out as a critical component making it a “must include” section of the book.

Where do you get inspiration for your stories?

All of the stories are real life experiences. I started to include other data, studies, and stories but did not like the way it changed the book. Thus, every story of what I saw adults doing when I was a 40-year-old functioning like a young child is true. Every story of all the things I did and didn’t do throughout as well as the how-to steps are all 100% real-life.

My Review:

Tina Brandau has written a wonderful book in her newest release, Standing Strong: The Real Life Story of Overcoming Adversity and Becoming Unstoppable in Life and Business. I appreciated with her telling about her personal life and being candid on what she had gone through. I loved how she was able to tell how she was able to overcome her life experiences and becoming who she became the person she is today. I appreciate her story and was inspired that provoked some thoughts of things going on in my own life. I was reminded of the beauty of hope. I admired the author’s strength, determination and courage. So many lessons to learn throughout this book. Many that other readers would be able to connect with like I was able to do.

I am giving Standing Strong: The Real Life Story of Overcoming Adversity and Becoming Unstoppable in Life and Business a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading books that are motivational and transformational that will help them rethink events in their own lives. I would love to be inspired by more books by Tina Brandau in the future to see what other tips or advice she has for her readers.

I received a paperback of Standing Strong: The Real Life Story of Overcoming Adversity and Becoming Unstoppable in Life and Business from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
