Review: So Bright a Hope by Amber Lynn Perry

So Bright a Hope (Daughters of His Kingdom #5)

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blurb:

When Caroline Whitney receives word that the brother she thought was dead is in fact a prisoner of war, she is frantic to rescue him. On the way to find help, she hides from the Redcoats, but is quickly discovered by a rugged British soldier who claims she must go with him, or be tried for espionage. The world would tell her this man is the enemy, but the veiled secrets in her captor’s eyes reveal he is more than he seems. If she fails to trust, more could be endangered than her life—her heart is bound to be broken a second time.

As a double agent in the service of Washington, British Captain James Higley must keep his true convictions a secret or face being killed as a traitor. On his newest mission, he discovers a courageous woman hiding in a barn, and is forced to capture her, or both their lives will be in jeopardy. When she offers her compliance in exchange for help in finding her brother, he accepts, despite his inner warnings. He must keep his distance from this alluring Patriot, or risk revealing not only his identity, but the true feelings of his heart

My Review:

I have loved every book by Amber Lynn Perry and So Bright A Hope is no different. She knows how to write a fabulous historical romance and her talent continues to shine through with Caroline and James. I am so sad to say goodbye to the Daughters of his Kingdom series. I have no doubt this author will have yet another winning series in the near future. Which I cannot wait to see what that will be.

I give So Bright A Hope well-deserved 5+ stars. Well done, Amber!

Review: If Not For Thee (A Daughter of His Kingdom Novella) by Amber Lynn Perry

Blurb (from Amazon):

With only three days to decide her fate, Margaret Main must make a choice: concede to the demands of her parents, or keep the vow she made to her beloved sister-in-law. The answer is simple, the solution less so. For to keep her word and her freedom, she must marry the only man she’s ever loved, with the knowledge he may never love her in return.

Holdwell Estate is his home, the place of his youth—his future. To keep it, Marcus Wells must find a woman willing to marry him by morning. For years he was warned against giving away his heart, against the damage love would surely bring upon him. But this woman is far too lovely, far too spirited and kind. How can he keep himself from giving away the one thing he knows, once gone, will be lost forever...

My Review

If Not For Thee is a novella from the Daughters of His Kingdom series. What a delight! I love this short story. Amber Lynn Perry has a way of making a reader feel as though they are part of the characters lives. So beautiful to be part of it. I am honored to have spent my time with Marcus and Maggie. If a reader is looking for a fabulous and detailed historical, then If Not For Thee is a read for them.

Highly highly recommended.

5+ stars.

Review: So Pure a Heart (Daughters of His Kingdown #4) by Amber Lynn Perry

So Pure a Heart is book four from Amber Lynn Perry's Daughters of His Kingdom series. In this installment, once a couple, Joseph and Hannah meet up again and find themselves working together as spies for the Patriots during the Revolutionary War. I found this book to be rich in historical detail, full of intrigue, suspense, danger, faith, love, and action. Of course, I love this book! What more does a reader want in a novel?

So Pure a Heart reminds me once again why Amber Lynn Perry is among my favorite authors. If a reader loves writings by Laura Frantz, Jody Hedlund, and MaryLu Tyndall, then they will love this book and series. Highly highly recommended.
