planets of the Solaris planets have apparently been lost. Expanded
archeological records on other Lantaraan orbital bodies in the Solaris
system show the fourth planet from the star—Eorthe—to be a sterile
wasteland. Except it is not. Eorthe’s civilization is not to the level
of the Murian Empire, but it is far advanced to those of a pastoral
Terato. Terato and Eorthe form the confederated United Terran League
under the nominal figurehead leader of League High Judikarr Eklam a’Qoc.
Jupiterr outpost expands into a major League stronghold, Jupiterr Base,
when civil unrest erupts in the League, the unexpected return of rift
intrusions threatens, and the Murian Emperor Klarvko Celo is
assassinated. As they prepare for confrontations with an unknown ancient
enemy, the internal tensions on Myr and Eorthe push Murians and

Meet the Author:
Hawk has authored several works of fiction including a historical
romance Moccasin Trace which was nominated for both the prestigious
Michael Shaara Award for Excellence in Civil War Fiction and the Writers
Notes Book Award. His Cairns of Sainctuarie Science Fiction Series and
his Moccasin Hollow Mystery Series have received national and
international attention.
With postgraduate degrees and faculty positions in several medical
universities, Hawk MacKinney has taught graduate courses in both the
United States and Jerusalem. His professional writing includes articles
on chordate neuroembryology, and aerospace research on muscle metabolic
behavior in multi-orbital environments.

Thank you for hosting the three volumes of The Cairns of Sainctuarie Sci-Fi series. We sci-fi readers/writers are a picky bunch. Some of us want action. Some of us want a heavy dose of the technical, others only a hint of it. It’s a fine balance across the genre-readers with satellite & probe research and discoveries of particle physics/theories changing faster than results can get published.
Vol I, The Bleikovat Event opens on verge of a Bleikovat invasion of the Feldon domains. The Malfesian War ravages homes and villages, splinter families and shatter ancient customs of Myr’s Feldovat clan bloodlines, ultimately reshaping the destiny of the Murians. Generations pass. Most memories of the great Malfesian upheavals become tales of legendary heroes – but not all.

My Review:
The Bleikovat Event begins Hawk MacKinney’s series, The Cairns of Sainctuarie. Science fiction or fantasy fiction is not one of my normal or favorite genres to read. It is quite different from what I am used to. However, it is a good thing to go outside of my comfort zone and read something new and unique. It is not a light read. It did take about quarter of the way through to get used to the writing style of the author. It is full of some complex characters and events throughout the book. There is a lot going on in the story that made me have to keep focused on what was going on. I did have to reread a few scenes to grasp what was happening. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and learning about their world around them. There is some action and adventure that I thought was intriguing and had no way of predicting the following pages at all. I never knew how each scene would end or where the characters would end up.
I am The Bleikovat Event three and a half stars. I do look forward to the next installment from The Cairns of Sainctuarie, The Missing Planets. I am curious as to what happens to the follow up to this one. I believe readers who enjoy science fiction or fantasy genre would enjoy this one. I, also, believe even readers who do not normally read those genres would want enjoy this one, as well.
