About the Author

Kathy Mills is a former Flight Attendant who started her flying career at age 19 and flew for nearly 33 years before retiring in 2005 with US Airways. Traveling is still one of her favorite things to do.

Kathy is a member of Kempsville Christian Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where her husband Brad served as their church’s worship minister until his death in 2008.

To those who know her best, she’s an eternity-minded daughter of the King, who loves to share her message that with Jesus, there is nothing this world can do to a child of God, that God can’t use to empower them to bring Glory to God.

More from Kathy

Comfort is found in God’s Love and Promises

My longing for more time with Brad is as strong today and will remain in me until I see Him again. I have not experienced one day since Brad’s death that I have not had at the least a moment (usually many moments) of longing for Brad to be with me still. I find comfort in knowing that God who knows my heart understands.

As Believers, we are blessed to have Jesus who understands firsthand the pain of separation that death presses into our souls. I have often felt Jesus sit alongside of me and just grieve with me when I am overcome. I believe Jesus hates death more than we do. I like knowing this. In fact, I need to know this; it comforts me. Our Father is always at work…and He has purposed for good to come from even the most heartbreaking losses. I would never say Brad’s death is good. Yet from the amazing and most gracious love of God, He lifts me up from my anguish and invites himself into my sorrow with His unique joy and transforms me.

God has brought good out of my sorrow. It took my sorrow for the good to be done. I wouldn’t have planned it this way, but I trust God’s plans more than I trust my ways. God will do no less with your sorrow. It’s one of His promises, and God keeps all His promises.

“He heals the brokenhearted. And binds up their wounds [healing their pain and comforting their sorrow].” Psalms 147:3 (AMP)

God’s love tells us this: I have my heart set on you.

My Review

Legacy of Love is a beautiful book to read of God’s love. Kathy Mills pens about the struggles she has had and how she was able to overcome. It was full of faith and I found it to be inspiring. It was just what I needed in this moment in life as I have been faced with my own difficult situations. I felt encouraged and was able to continue to find the love and peace I am seeking.

I am giving Legacy of Love five. I believe fans and readers of memoirs, as well as, those who are needing inspiration during hard times. I would love to read more like this from Kathy Mills in the future.

I received a copy of Kathy Mill’ Legacy of Love from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

But when most of her class elects to stay home rather than be taught by an Indian, she knows things will never change.

Alan McNaughten went to Washington, D.C. to make a difference. Instead, he finds himself entrenched in political lies, manipulation, and deceit. When he finds a way to return home to Texas as an Indian Agent, he leaps at the chance. Even if he must hurt an innocent woman to secure his position.

But when the lovely Miss Stratton agrees to teach for the Alabama-Coushatta Reservation, Alan knows he’s gone too far. He’ll do anything to protect her from further heartache and harm. But what will happen when she learns the truth about her position…and the truth about him?

Enough

All my life, since I can remember, I’ve been told I’m part Native American. My great-great grandmother on my mother’s side, they said, was full-blooded Comanche. So even though I am blonde and fair (I have glow-in-the-dark skin) I believed them. I told people, and laughed at their sideways looks. I was proud of my heritage.

Then I took one of those Ancestry DNA tests. Nope. Not one drop of Native American in me. According to the test, I’m English, Scottish, Irish, and Swedish. And yes, I am the biological child of my father (very blonde and fair) and my mother (brunette, with high cheekbones). So I guess it’s just the way the genetic dominoes fell. When I got my mom’s half, I apparently didn’t get the Native American part.

I’m not sure how the science of DNA works, but I will tell you I feel extremely connected to Skye, the heroine of Legacy of Love. She’s a perfectionist. I’m a perfectionist. She thinks she has to perform to be accepted. I do, too. Though she’s always been loved, she struggles to fit in, to feel like she’s really a part of things. Ditto.

Skye’s journey is both difficult and beautiful. It helps that there’s a dreamy beaux (or three!) along the way. But in all the hardship and heartache, she finds herself. And she finds that she’s enough, exactly as she is. Most importantly, she finds a relationship with the One who created her and loved her before time began.

I hope you enjoy Skye’s journey in book two of The Stratton Legacy series. If you haven’t read book one, I encourage you to do so—you’ll meet Skye as a child. More than anything, I hope you’ll glean some beautiful truths along the way.

You are precious.

You are loved.

You are enough.

My Review

Legacy of Love is the second installment from Renae Brumbaugh Green’s series, The Stratton Legacy. I really enjoyed the first book, Legacy of Honor, and enjoyed this one even more. I adored Skye and Alan’s story. I loved Skye and my heart broke for her as she is faced with discrimination but admired her courage, determination and bravery. I found this to be a beautiful story of reminded of some valuable life lessons: the power of forgiveness, how to overcome the past, and learning to discover yourself.

I am giving Legacy of Love a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean Historical Romance. I look forward for the next release from The Stratton Legacy series to see what happens next.

More from Linda

Dear Reader:

Have you ever dreamed of winning the lottery?

Last year, that happened to someone at work. Not millions, but a significant amount of money. As a result, she immediately cut her hours to part-time and began to do things she hadn’t been able to. Her good fortune prompted a lot of conversations among my colleagues about what they would do if they came into a large sum of money.

Those discussions inspired the plotline for Legacy of Love, but instead of winning the lottery my main character comes into a large inheritance. As a result, everyone treats her differently and weighs in on what she should do. Her friendships are affected, and her life is turned upside down. She was happy before the inheritance, however the money would allow her to perform acts of kindness. But at what cost?

I hope you enjoy Hannah’s story.

Blessings,

Linda Shenton Matchett

My Review

Legacy of Love is Linda Shenton Matchett’s contribution to the multi author series, Keepers of the Light. I thought it was a pretty good read. I enjoyed the historical details of the town, Spruce Hill, Oregon. I adored the characters, Meg and Reuben. I found their story to be sweet, delightful and entertaining. It is not a long read, I had no problem reading it in one sitting.

I am giving Legacy of Love four and a half stars. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean historical romance. I would love to find out what happens in the other books from the Keepers of the Light series, as well as, others written by the talented, Linda Shenton Matchett.

I received a digital copy of Legacy of Love from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
