Review: The Art of Revenge: An Anthony Provati Thriller by Joe Giordano

Blurb:

The Art of Revenge is a riveting, action-packed, suspenseful and at times terrifying chase around the world that will have gritty thriller lovers salivating for more - a must read for those who like hanging on the edge of the cliff by only their fingers.

The Art of Revenge features two unlikely heroes. Anthony Provati is a jazz pianist, art gallery owner, and sailor, who has a mob boss uncle. Valentina Esposito was orphaned at birth but is rewriting her destiny by becoming a brilliant computer programmer. They undertake a global pursuit of murderous Russian and North Korean operatives to foil a terrorist plot funded by forgeries and the ransom of stolen paintings.

My Review:

The Art of Revenge is the third installment from the Anthony Provati Thriller series. I have not read all of the books and feel each one can be read as a stand alone. I found it to be an exciting read. It is not one that is easily predictable with the twists and turns involved throughout. I felt like I was on a thrilling roller coaster ride. Never knew what would happen in the scenes to follow.

I am giving The Art of Revenge four and a half stars. I would love for more books to follow this one in the Anthony Provati Thriller series to see what else the author has in store for Anthony. I recommend this for readers who enjoy a suspense filled novels that will keep them on the edge of their seat.

I received The Art of Revenge from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Interview

Q1: Who are you, and what’s your claim to fame?
I’m Joe Giordano and I wrote the just-published Drone Strike, An Anthony Provati Thriller the second book in the series and my third novel. Karim’s family is killed as ‘collateral damage’ by a U.S. drone strike in Iraq. The Islamic State in the Levant exploits his rage, recruiting him for a terrorist attack on the U.S., and only Anthony Provati can stop him.

Q2: What type of writing fuel do you prefer?
Coffee. When it gets cold, I’m in the writing zone.

Q3: What inspired you to write your latest book?
The questions: How would I react if my family were killed in a drone strike as ‘collateral damage?’ Where would I turn for justice? I threw my protagonist Anthony Provati into the pot and stirred.

Q3: Would you be a pirate or ninja, and why?
A pirate. They took control of their destiny. Ninjas were mercenaries.

Q3: Give us one piece of sage advice on writing.
Fiction writers are rejected about as often as they breathe. Criticism comes in buckets, success in thimbles. Self-doubt is the enemy. Persistence is an under-appreciated success factor. Fight on.

Q4: If you were a cocktail, what would you be called, and what’s the recipe?
Vesuvius. Mostly quiet, but when it gets active … One part vodka, ten parts independence.

Q5: If you were to pen a screenplay for the next summer blockbuster, what would it be about, and who would you want to see in the starring role?
Drone Strike directed by either Denis Villeneuve or, of course, Martin Scorsese. Anthony Provati played by either Christopher Pine or Ryan Gosling.

Q6: What are you currently working on?
In my fourth novel, Anthony will have a female co-protagonist, Angelica Esposito. Brilliant, beautiful, intrepid, with forbidden secrets in her past. I’ll be launching another series of books with her in the lead.

Q7: And finally, where can we find you on social media?

My Review

Drone Strike is the second installment from the Anthony Provati Thriller series. I have not read the first book and feel this could be read as a stand alone. It tells the story of an Iraqi Karim losing his wife and children because of an American drone strike. He seeks revenge and is recruited to be part of a terror attack against the United States of America for The Islamic State. Anthony Provati has to find a way to keep this from happening. The reader will be taken from all over the globe from the Middle East, Central America and United States.

I found Drone Strike to be a great read. I usually have a hard time following plot lines in a thriller and do not normally read thriller. However, I enjoyed reading this one. It is action packed and fast paced but not so much so that it is difficult to catch on what is going on. There were some scenes were quite violent that I did not care for. There were other scenes that made me see through the eyes of others around the world that put current events into perspective.

I am giving Drone Strike four and a half stars. I would love to read the previous book in the Anthony Provati Thriller series to see what happened prior to this one, as well as, read any other books that release after this one. I recommend this for readers who enjoy a suspense filled novels that will keep them on the edge of the seat.

I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
