Review: Unforgotten by Shelley Shepard Gray

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blurb:

Even though Bethanne Hostetler has found some peace eight years after an attempted assault and the accidental death of Peter Miller, she is still haunted by the memory. When her Englisher cousin, Candace--who has just been crowned Miss Crittenden County--reveals that she has a stalker, all of Bethanne's old fears come rushing back.Jay Raber had once been Peter's best friend, and the fact that he did not protect Bethanne that fateful night has haunted him ever since. To make matters worse, she continues to avoid him--even as he continues to love her. Jay can only hope and pray that one day Bethanne will see the person he is today and not the boy he used to be. As Candace's stalker becomes bolder, Officer Ryan Mulany becomes her escort to various events. He knows he should only think of Candace as a job, but the more time they spend together, the harder it gets to maintain professional distance. And when everyone's worst fears are realized, all four must work together to prevent another tragedy before time runs out and another innocent person is hurt. From New York Times bestselling author Shelley Shepard Gray comes this emotionally taut story of learning to forgive, trust, and love despite the pain of the past.

My Review:

Shelley Shepard Gray has been one of my go to authors, when it comes to Amish Romance for years. I was excited to find out that she had a new release, Unforgotten, and was determined to get my hands on it. I was far from being disappointed. This story was full of suspense, mystery, action, and faith. I love how the theme shows the power of forgiveness and having second chances. There were a few twists and turns that I did not see coming. I thought it was great.

I am giving Unforgotten five stars. I believe readers who love to read clean Amish Romantic fiction with a suspenseful twist will definitely want to read this one. I would love to read more books from the talented Shelley Shepard Gray in the near future.

I received a paperback copy of Shelley Shepard Gray's Unforgotten from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Review: Her Only Wish by Shelley Shepard Gray

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Blurb:

Return to Pinecraft, Florida, for a Sweet Amish Romance

Sheltered yet adventurous, Betsy Detweiler is on a mission to get out of Kentucky and experience new things in life. She's got a list--a life list. What better place to start than with her friends in beautiful Pinecraft, Florida?

From the moment Betsy walks into the Snow Bird Golf Course to sign up for lessons, August Troyer is mesmerized. Betsy is a mass of contradictions--beautiful yet awkward, outgoing yet unsure, joyful yet hesitant. She's like no one he's ever met before, and as the only child of missionary parents, he's met a lot of people.

As Betsy and August embark on a month of enjoying life to the fullest, they'll encounter several reasons to back off and play it safe. But playing it safe has its own consequences. This tender romance reminds us that life--and love--requires a fair amount of risk.

My Review:

I enjoyed reading the first book from A Season in Pinecraft series by Shelley Shepard Gray, Her Heart's Desire, and was honored to have the opportunity to read book two, Her Only Wish. I thought it was a wonderful addition to the series. I adored Betsy right from the start. I connected with her instantly and loved watching her interact with August. It was a sweet and heartwarming story between the two.

I am giving Her Only Wish four stars. I believe fans of clean Amish Romantic fiction will want to pick this one up for themselves. I am eagerly awaiting to read the next installment from A Season in Pinecraft series, Her Secret Hope.

Review: His Promise by Shelley Shepard Gray’

Blurb (from Amazon):

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Shelley Shepard Gray’s latest Christmas novel in her Amish of Hart County series.
It’s set to be a white Christmas in Hart County, and Grace King is pet-sitting in a beautiful home with only a difficult dachshund for company. Just as she starts to miss the bustle of her large Amish family, Grace runs into a familiar face. Living right next door is John Michael Miller. He’s a fireman now, but five years ago, he had courted her older sister, then broke her heart. Seeing him again stirs Grace’s anger, but also reminds her of deeper feelings she’s done her best to deny.
The infatuation John Michael once saw in Grace’s eyes is long gone, though his complicated attraction to her remains. He had walked away all those years ago when he realized he was falling in love with the wrong sister. Now, as suspicious fires are set in their community, that’s not an option. Grace dismisses his warnings, and John Michael vows to keep an eye on her. But he can’t help wondering if he’s reconnected with Grace, only to risk losing her again.
Now all John Michael wants for Christmas is to keep Grace safe, in the hopes that they can one day have a future together.

My Review:

His Promise is the sixth installment from Shelley Shepard Gray’s The Amish of Hart County series. I believe this one is probably my favorite I have read of the series so date. I enjoyed Grace’s story. Especially, when John Michael came into the picture. There is a little mystery that needs to be solved that keeps reader interested, as well.

I give His Promise four stars. I recommend it for readers who enjoy Christmas time and Amish stories.

I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

Blog Tour with Giveaway: His Risk by Shelley Shepard Gray

About the Book:

An undercover English DEA agent will do anything to protect the Amish girl he loves.

Alice shouldn't like-or want-Calvin. He's English, has a questionable past, and an even more questionable job. Still, she can't help being intrigued. Though Calvin assures Alice that he's worthy of her, she's torn between surrendering to her growing feelings and steering clear of him.
When a sudden surge of criminal activity alarms the community and even targets Alice, Calvin fears that his double life has put everyone he loves at risk. My Review: His Risk is the fourth installment and my first introduction to Shelley Shepard Gray's The Amish of Hart County. I did not feel as though I was missing much by not reading the other books in the series. However, I do want to read them to see what had happened prior to this one. I thought it was pretty good and liked the suspense, mystery, and danger. I was intrigued with Calvin right from the stars and loved him with Alice.

His Risk is a good, sweet and clean Amish story. I give it 4 1/2 stars.

An Amish Summer is a collection of four novellas. These novellas include:

A Reunion in Pinecraft by Shelley Shepard Gray. Sharon and Sherilyn travels to Shipshewana for a wedding, where they meet Graham. Graham and Sherilyn starts writing letters to one another and look forward to one day meeting again. But there is a twist, Graham finds that he has been writing to the wrong sister. What does he do now?

Summer Storm Amy Clipston. Adrianna and Jesse are happy, in love, and about to be married. Only her brother comes along and ruins it and her father refuses to allow the marriage to happen. Will he change his mind or will Adrianna's love be lost to her forever?

Lakeside Love by Kathleen Fuller. Esther feels she could never be like her little sister, Sarah. Sarah is the beautiful one and even has the attention of Judah, the one Esther has loved most of her life. How will things change when a Englischer comes to visit for the summer?

One Sweet Kiss by Kelly Irvin. Martha has been taking care of her family since her mother died when she was young. She, also, feels she needs to take care of wild boy Jacob. How will one summer change her world forever?

I thought An Amish Summer was pretty good. I enjoyed all of the short, sweet and clean Amish stories. My favorite would have to be Kelly Irvin's One Sweet Kiss. I would recommend this book as it is definitely worth a read.

Four stars.

Review: An Uncommon Protector (Lone Star Hero #2) by Shelley Shepard Gray

An Uncommon Protector is the second installment from the Lone Star Hero series. The War Between the States was hard on Lauren Tracey. She loses her mother, father, and her brother. She has inherited a 200 acre ranch-a ranch that she is running alone. She decides to free Thomas Baker from jail and hires him for a year to help her on the ranch. The two have to solve a mystery of why her cattle are suddenly dying. Could they find that their own lives are in danger?

I thought An Uncommon Protector to be a pretty good read. I liked Lauren from the start and enjoyed the chemistry between her and Thomas. Even though Thomas was just released from jail, I still felt that he was a good man. He would do anything to protect Lauren, making me love him more and more throughout the book. The story is full of historical details that I felt like I was transported back in time. There are some mystery and suspense that kept me wondering what would happen next. I think this is the best book I have read by Shelley Shepard Gray yet.

A great, clean, historical romance.

Five stars
