Review: The Brightest of Dreams by Susan Anne Mason

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blurb:

Quinten Aspinall is determined to fulfill a promise he made to his deceased father to keep his family together. To do so, he must travel to Canada to find his younger siblings, who were sent there as indentured workers while Quinn was away at war. He is also solicited by his employer to look for the man's niece who ran off with a Canadian soldier. If Quinn can bring Julia back, he will receive his own tenant farm, enabling him to provide a home for his ailing mother and siblings.

Julia Holloway's decision to come to Toronto has been met with disaster. When her uncle's employee rescues her from a bad situation, she fears she can never repay Quinn's kindness. So when he asks her to help find his sister, she agrees. Soon after, however, Julia receives some devastating news that changes everything.

Torn between reuniting his family and protecting Julia, will Quinn have to sacrifice his chance at happiness to finally keep his promise?

My Review:

I always get excited to get my hands on a new release by Susan Anne Mason. Her third installment from her Canadian Crossings series, The Brightest of Dreams, is no different. I loved every single page of this book. Of the three books from the series, this one is probably my favorite. I loved the historical details that were so vivid, I felt like I was right there with Quinten and Julia.
I am giving The Brightest of Dreams a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy clean historical fiction.

Review: The Best of Intentions by Susan Anne Mason

Blurb (from Amazon):

In the aftermath of WWI, Grace Abernathy is determined to reunite with her family, crossing an ocean to convince her widowed sister to return home to England. Yet Toronto holds more tragedy and her nephew Christian is now in the custody of his paternal relatives, the formidable Easton family, who rejected Grace's sister because of her low social status.

My Review:

The Best of Intentions is the beginning of Susan Anne Mason's whole new series, Canadian Crossings. I have loved her other previous books and this one is no exception. I loved Grace right from the start and admired her bravery, courage and determination. I had to keep reading, turn the pages, and not put the book down.

I give The Best of Intentions a well deserved five plus stars. Susan Anne Mason is becoming more and more one of my top favorite authors to read. I can not wait to see what happens in the Canadian Crossings series.

Highly recommended.

Review: A Most Noble Neir by Susan Anne Mason

Blurb (from Amazon):

When stable hand Nolan Price learns from his dying mother that he is actually the son of the Earl of Stainsby, his plans for a future with kitchen maid Hannah Burnham are shattered. Once he is officially acknowledged as the earl's heir, Nolan will be forbidden to marry beneath his station.

Unwilling to give up the girl he loves, he devises a plan to elope--believing that once their marriage is sanctioned by God, Lord Stainsby will be forced to accept their union. However, as Nolan struggles to learn the ways of the aristocracy, he finds himself caught between pleasing Hannah and living up to his father's demanding expectations.

At every turn, forces work to keep the couple apart, and a solution to remain together seems further and further away. With Nolan's new life pulling him irrevocably away from the woman he loves, it seems only a miracle will bring them back together.

My Review:

A Most Noble Heir is a wonderful piece of historical fiction. I love love love Nolan. He is one of those characters that a reader wants to root for all the way to the end. The story has some great elements to it, that includes, action, adventure, mystery, suspense, and danger. I had no way of predicting how it was going to end, which makes a perfect page turner for me.

I highly recommend A Most Noble Heir and give it a well-deserved 5+ stars.
