Meet the Author:

Bruce Shutts has spent countless hours reading children’s picture books to his three children and five grandchildren over the past forty years. He also loves to create humorous poems for nearly every occasion he can imagine. Coupled with the fact that he often thinks and acts like a three-to-six-year-old, it makes his entrance into the world of children’s books a natural fit. He currently is retired with his wife of forty-five years and loves to travel, play golf, and (you guessed it) read books at night to his grandkids!

My Review:

The Moon in the Sky: Poems Your Kids Would Have Written (If Only They Could Write) is a fun book to read for younger readers by Bruce Shutts. The poems include the various parts of learning, such as, dressing yourself, going to the bathroom and having snacks. I was not expecting the many laughs that it brought out. It was a fun book to read with my own children. Some of the pages, I had to read again and again to them. I thought it was a great entertainment and a bonding moment while reading with them.

The Moon in the Sky: Poems Your Kids Would Have Written (If Only They Could Write) is illustrated by the talented artist, Amy Wummer. The pictures perfectly go with the words on the perfect. They catch a young reader’s eye to keep them interested in the book.

I am giving The Moon in the Sky: Poems Your Kids Would Have Written (If Only They Could Write) a very well deserved five plus stars. I recommend it for readers who are between the ages of three and seven years old. It would be a great addition to add to a children’s library or in a preschool classroom to read over and over.

I received a soft cover copy of The Moon in the Sky: Poems Your Kids Would Have Written (If Only They Could Write) from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

  1. Amy,
Thanks so much for the kind review. I'm thrilled you enjoyed reading the book to your kids and that they enjoyed it. The main reason I wrote it was to provide moments like that. All the best.
