"The story is almost instantly engrossing and Jen is, without question, a
character who feels authentic and like someone living and breathing. Markloff's
strength in world-building, character development, and storytelling all shine,
and the scenes come to life in a combination of creative prose and the
absolutely gorgeous artwork that begins each chapter. Ultimately, The Ties That

My Review:
The Ties That Bind is the second installment from The Human Born Era series by Susan L Markloff. I enjoyed the first book The Rise of the Raidin and was looking forward to reading the continuation. Once again I was interested of this magical tale that is full of action and adventure. It was a little intimidating with the size of the book, but quickly found it to be a good read. I liked it.
I am giving The Ties That Bind four stars. I believe fans of young adult paranormal and fantasy fiction will want to give this one a read. I am hoping for a follow up in The Human Born Era to see what could possible happen next with the characters.
I received a hard cover copy of Susan L Markloff's The Ties That Bind from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
