My Review:

Seymour Ubell’s The Birth Mother is a unique read and an excellent debut novel. I found this well written story to be one that held my attention until from start to finish. I was pleasantly surprised how engaged I was throughout reading this. I had no problem reading the whole book in one sitting. It was so worth spending those hours with these characters and their tale.

The Birth Mother tells the story of an American man doing business in China. After visiting an orphanage, he finds himself falling in love with two little twin girls that are European and Asia descent. He decides to adopt them with his wife. This event changes the world of everyone involved. This is one of those books that invokes multiple emotions out a reader. Which includes: needing tissues at times, feeling joy, laughter, and feeling inspired. I found it to be quite the journey to experience with twists and turns that is in no way predict how it would all end. There are so many wonderful and important lessons to be learned in this book – how overcome tragedy, how to have unconditional love, how to redeem yourself, how to experience joy and how to find who you truly are.

I would give The Birth Mother one hundred stars if I could. I would highly recommend it for readers who want to read something that is beautifully written, different and refreshing to read. I would love to read more by this author in the future.

I received this book from the publisher. This review 100% my own honest opinion.
