My Review:

When the Sun Met the Moon is a great children’s book by Simran Mohinani. It was a cute story of how the sun was lonely and was in need of a partner and a break. During the search, the Sun, finds the Moon. The two are able to form a perfect partnership to give one another a break. I love how there were a few lessons to be learned within the pages. The Sun was feeling down and exhausted from continually lighting the Earth. Finally, decided to reach out for help and got the help and support that they need. We all need to have a support system to keep from us refreshed and energized.

When the Sun Met the Moon would not be complete without the talents of Leo Hartas. I love how the drawings of the sun, the moon and the landscapes of each page. The illustrations perfectly follow the story. I found the pictures to be a quite helpful addition to keep a younger minds focused as to what was going on.

I am giving When the Sun Met the Moon four stars. I would recommend it for readers who are between the ages of five and ten years old. It would be a good addition for a children’s library at home or at school. My family and I look forward to reading more by Simran Mohinani in the near future.

I received a paperback copy of When the Sun Met the Moon from the publisher. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
