Meet the Author:

Sharp spent the bulk of her career in new product development—dreaming up intuitive ideas from how to kill bugs to new ice cream forms to hit grocery shelves. A self-proclaimed problem-solver, she loves to think about the things that the world needs and figuring out how to make those things come to life. “Knowing in high school what I wanted to do with my life set me up for the right path. I wanted the same for my child and searched for books to guide her, but came up short,” Sharp said. “That’s when I thought, ‘why not write the book for my child that she needs and that will also help others?”

My Review:

I thought Dream It & Do It: 100 Possibilities, Stories and Real-Life Role Models was a pretty good read. It is quite inspiring for younger readers. It includes stories from various careers. These careers include:

Artistic Writers, such as, comedians and poets

Artistic Performers, such as, athletes and social media stars

Artistic Designers, such as, stage designers and interior decorators

Helpers: Service, such as, pilots and service members

Helpers: Medical, such as, ambulance drivers and dentists

Helpers: Growth, such as, librarians and parents

Helpers: Nature, such as, farmers and zoologists

Lemonade Stand Business, such as, economists and investors

Product Developers, such as, welders and inventors

Discoverers, such as, historians and archeologists

Each person highlighted has two pages dedicated to them. There is an illustration of the person, as well as, the importance of what they do. I thought it was a great resource for children to see the wonderful possibilities that they can have in the future. 

Dream It & Do It: 100 Possibilities, Stories and Real-Life Role Models is getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. I thought it was a great read. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy learning about others and for those that are about seven to twelve years old. I look forward to reading more by Holly A. Sharp in the near future.
