For twenty-six years C.S. McDonald’s life whirled around a song and a dance. Classically trained at Pittsburgh Ballet Theater School, The Pittsburgh Dance Alloy, and many others, she became a professional dancer and choreographer. During that time, she choreographed many musicals and an opera for the Pittsburgh Savoyards. In 2011 she retired from her dance career to write. Under her real name, Cindy McDonald, she writes murder-suspense and romantic suspense novels. In 2014 she added the pen name, C.S. McDonald, to write children’s books for her grandchildren. In 2016 she added the Fiona Quinn Mysteries to that expansion. She decided to write the cozy mystery series that everyone, including teens and tweens, can read and enjoy. Presently, the Fiona Quinn Mysteries nine books with a tenth slated for 2021. The books are also available on audio, narrated by Maren Swenson Waxenberg. Cindy’s newest venture is The Owl’s Nest Mysteries. Once again, she has set her cozy mystery in Pittsburgh. The female protagonist, Alexa Owl, is much different from Fiona Quinn. The Owl’s Next Mysteries has a little grit, a little time travel, a little romance, and a whole lot of cozy! Ms. McDonald resides on her Thoroughbred farm known as Fly by Night Stables near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Bill, and her poorly behaved Cocker Spaniel, Allister.

My Reviews:

Banking on a Murder is part of from C S McDonald’s A Fiona Quinn Mysteries series. It is, also, the first of the four Fiona Quinn Quick Mysteries I have had the pleasure of reading. At only thirty pages long, it took no time to read. Even though the length is short, it is still full of adventure, mystery and suspense. I loved catching up with Fiona and meeting her old friend from college, Priscilla Conroy, who suddenly disappears. Fiona gets caught up in the mystery of the vanishing of her friend. She spends the Memorial Day holiday weekend trying to figure what has happened to Priscilla. I kept guessing what would Fiona would find out and how it would all unfold. I was entertained from page one and engaged with the story all the way to the end. I thought it was a fun and a delightful little mystery. I loved this quick tale and had it read in no time. It was a great way to spend a short break from life.

I am giving Banking on a Murder a very well deserved five plus stars. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading fun, quick and cozy mysteries. I will most definitely be looking forward to the other books of A Fiona Quinn Mysteries series and the other Fiona Quinn Quick Mysteries.

I received a digital copy of Banking on a Murder from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

The Christmas Cameo is another short tale from C S McDonald’s one of four Fiona Quinn Quick Mysteries. It comes from her series, A Fiona Quinn Mysteries, also. I adore Fiona and her exciting mysteries that are fun and a delight to read. This one is only at about fifty pages long but not short on adventure, intrigue, suspense and mystery. It is always fun to catch up with Fiona Quinn to see where else she is going to get herself into. This go round, she finds a cameo brooch in her Uncle Wilbur’s home. He has since passed away and she is curious to find out who the brooch belongs to. There is a sweet message on it with the initials D A S on it. Fiona wants to find who this person is and what secrets her Uncle Wilbur held in his life. She goes out on a mission to find this mysterious person with the D A S and with two days before Christmas, she intends to do so by then. I, myself, was ready to find out who this obviously special person to Wilbur was and could not wait to find out if Fiona would find out in time.

I am giving The Christmas Cameo a very well deserved five plus stars. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading fun, quick and cozy mysteries. I will most definitely be looking forward to the other books of A Fiona Quinn Mysteries series and the other Fiona Quinn Quick Mysteries.

Harriet's Heist is a great addition and fun tale from C S McDonald’s one of four Fiona Quinn Quick Mysteries and, also, part of her A Fiona Quinn Mysteries series. I have previously read several books from this series and was excited to get my hands on this fifty page story. I enjoyed traveling to Florida with Fiona Quinn. She takes a trip to visit the home of her parents, who live in a retirement community in Daytona. The retirement community suddenly finds themselves in a mystery of their own of who is stealing their possessions. Suddenly, Fiona’s little dog, Harriet, gets involved. So far, this is one of my favorite of the Fiona Quinn Quick Mysteries. There were some scenes that made me laugh out loud. It was a delight to find out how it would all end for the community, as well as, little Harriet. I was amused from the start until the very end. It was great and a perfect way to spend a short break.

I am going to give Harriet's Heist a very well deserved five plus stars. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading fun, quick and cozy mysteries. I will most definitely be looking forward to the other books of A Fiona Quinn Mysteries series and the other Fiona Quinn Quick Mysteries by the very talented C S McDonald.

Crystal Clear Confusion is yet another great addition and delightful tale from C S McDonald’s one of four Fiona Quinn Quick Mysteries. It is, also, part of her A Fiona Quinn Mysteries series. I have the pleasure of reading the other three books from these quick mysteries and have enjoyed every one of them. This one is no different. I could help but giggle throughout this one. Fiona is having nightmares and seeks help from her crazy friend and neighbor, Astrid, and her crystal ball. Astrid was quite the quirky character that made this tale entertaining. I never could have predicted what they would find out on what was causing these nightmares. It was fun trying to figure it all out. The story is under forty pages long and I quickly was able to find out how it would all end. This was a great way to spend a little bit of alone time for me. I loved every single page.

Crystal Clear Confusion will be getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading fun, quick and cozy mysteries. I will most definitely be looking forward to the other books of A Fiona Quinn Mysteries series and the other Fiona Quinn Quick Mysteries by the very talented C S McDonald.
