Then everyone can share this "feeling of magic” and joy with others.”  - Harold H Bloomfield MD, N.Y. Times bestselling author

Book Description:

Yummy Me Feels So Good isn't just another story book. It is something you can use with your kids and grandkids for many years. Simple and childlike, kids identify with the gentle creatures within. Absolutely beautiful, Yummy Me is a genius way of helping children immediately connect with the world of emotions through enchanting animal friends. The images and words are so simple and therefore can be grasped by children and adults of all ages. The book can easily open up space for a dialogue about emotions between an adult and a child, all the while being playfully disguised as animal talk. Children laugh and grimace as they flip through the pages, mirroring the emotions they feel on the pages. Yummy Me is a great doorway to explore the sometimes difficult arena of emotions, both for children, teachers and parents.

Rather than labeling certain emotions as "good" or "bad", these emotions simply get space to be as they are, and encourage the reader to remember that they too will pass. The final message of the book that we are in fact "none of these" me's is a loving reminder that at any moment we can start our day again from joy. "I have seen firsthand how taking out this book can transform a child's tantrum into a smile and eventually bursts of laughter.

My Review:

Yummy Me Feels So Good is a cute little children’s book by Lion I Am. It is a great way for children to learn about their feelings. Some of these feelings include: sad, grumpy, silly and many more. It is full of colorful, vibrant, eye catching and pleasing illustrations of various animals, such as, an owl, a manatee. There are even pictures of insects and other things you may see in the world. I loved that they were actually created by a child’s hand. They were a perfect addition and a great way to relate the different feeling. I thought they were a great way of holding a child’s attention and teaching them about feelings and emotions.

My youngest child found Yummy Me Feels So Good to be fun and entertaining. He enjoyed reading it to me over and over. I loved watching the smile and joy on his face. There was a sprinkle of giggles, too. I thought he was able to relate the words with the pictures perfectly.

I am giving Yummy Me Feels So Good four stars. I would recommend it for readers in the age range of seven and under. I am excited to donate and share my copy with the elementary school’s library. I know the little ones will love it and will bring a good cheer for years to come. My little one really loved it!

I received Yummy Me Feels So Good from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
