One of the darkest periods in history...
In a Jewish ghetto, Max Rosen and his sister
Zena struggle to live after their father is taken away by the Nazis. With
barely enough food to survive, the siblings make a daring escape from Nazi
soldiers into the nearby forest.
Max and Zena are brought to a safe camp by Jewish resistance fighters. But soon, bombs are falling all around them. Can Max and Zena survive the fallout of the Nazi invasion?
With art by Álvaro Sarraseca and text
adapted by Georgia Ball, Lauren Tarshis' beloved and acclaimed I
Survived series takes on vivid new life in this explosive graphic novel
edition. Publishing in simultaneous hardcover and paperback editions, the book
also includes nonfiction back matter with historical photos and facts about
World War II and the Holocaust.
My Review:
I Survived the Nazi Invasion, 1944 is a perfect fit for the I Survived. It gives younger readers a glimpse of what it was like being a Jew during the World War II Europe. These are events that should never be forgotten. I loved the bravery of the characters, Max and Zena. Such an important and educational story to read.
I Survived the Nazi Invasion, 1944 is getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. I highly recommend it for readers who are seven to twelve years old.
I received I Survived the Nazi Invasion, 1944 from the publisher. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
