Meet the author:
As a child, Dave Cravens planned to grow up to be a superhero, the first person to capture Bigfoot and Nessie on film, pilot experimental aircraft out of Area 51, develop cold fusion, and star and direct in his own blockbuster action movies so he could retire at the ripe age of twenty-five and raid tombs the rest of his life. Instead, he got a degree in journalism, which he hasn’t used at all other than to justify his incredibly insightful and valid complaints about the state of journalism. During his twenty-two years in the video game business, he’s written for award winning franchises, directed TV commercials and movies, sprained his ankles numerous times in ultimate frisbee games and published three original novels.

My Review
Mayhem, Murder and the PTA is the first book I have by Dave Cravens. It will not be the last. It tells the story of single mother, Parker Monroe, an investigative journalist. She gets herself into a little bit of trouble and winds up losing her job and finds herself having to her rural childhood hometown. She quickly realizes that this town if full of gossip and drama, and finds herself in yet more trouble. With her investigative mind, she starts to investigate the murder of the vice principal of her children’s school.
I enjoyed Mayhem, Murder and the PTA. I was not expecting this book to be so very good. I found myself laughing out loud from page one. Parker Monroe is one woman not to cross. She cracked me up throughout the book. Especially, when she was butting heads with the PTA members and school principal. I admire her courage and determination. It was fun getting to know her. I never knew where she would end up next. The mystery of who did it had me guessing up until the end. Even though the size, I had no problem reading this book from start to finish in one sitting.
I am giving Mayhem, Murder and the PTA a very well deserved five plus stars. I can not wait to see where else the imagination of Dave Cravens takes his readers to next. I highly recommend this one. It is one not to be missed. It is among one of my favorite mysteries I have read this year.
I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
