Interview:

What made you write a book about Tammy?
My husband had asked me to more than once and I thought her story might bring joy to others.

What genre do you write in and why?
The two books published this year are memoirs, my first two books are fantasy adventure, and my next is a short story book that is a little unnerving with twists. I read across genres and never understood why I would have to limit myself to reading a few certain types of book. I find my soul feeling the same with writing. I enjoy writing fantasy and children’s books, I love writing humour and my shadow side is proving it has a lot of short story writing it wants to do which both compels and scares me.

Does your family support you as a writer?
Yes and no. I think many of us writers seek support from people who don’t understand our need to write. It’s been a journey of self-discovery for me to realize people have their own reasons, and their own interests. A lack of support can come from low self-esteem, disinterest, or an inability to understand why we would put ourselves through so much for  so little gain. The more I have written and leaned into my love and dedication the less I have needed the validation from those who in the past my ego ‘expected’ to support me. This has been so liberating for me.

What’s your favourite under-appreciated novel?
Ooh, I am torn between a handful; however, I will say Fledgling  by Octavia Butler. She was an amazing writer and her concrete descriptions and lack of flowery prose thrill me. She has an ability to pull me into a book whether I want to or not. Her books unnerve me, yet I go back to them year after year to delight in her talent and intelligence.

Do you think someone could be a writer if they don’t feel emotions strongly?
Gosh. I am not sure. I think for me, I have to be emotionally involved or my writing’s not going to reach the height I know I can take it to. I can’t speak for all writers and their motivation.

My Review:

Tammy The Little Cat With A Big Attitude is a cute little story by Liane Carter. I loved this fun story about a teenage girl who adopts a kitten. A kitten named Tammy that wounds up with a big attitude. When I was a teenager, I adopted a cat with the same attitude and personality. So, I definitely could relate to their relationship. They made me think back of fond memories of my sweet baby girl who has long passed.

Tammy The Little Cat With A Big Attitude is a quite delightful, sweet, funny and quick read. I could not help to laugh at some of the scenes. And seeing the perspective from a cat could be very hilarious, as well. I wanted to keep reading to see what would happen next. In addition, to the laughter, I did find myself needing some tissues and have a good cry.

I believe any cat lover and owner would relate to Tammy The Little Cat With A Big Attitude. Especially, if they want to get inside a cat's mind to find out what they are thinking. Oh how fun! This is one of those books that warms a reader's heart, make them smile, feel the joy and love, as well as, heartache and pain. This is a kind of book that I personally could  not put down and was sad to see it end. I had it read in one sitting.

I highly recommend Tammy The Little Cat With A Big Attitude a well deserved five stars. I loved it!

I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
